What is UV Water Purification?
|
UV Water Purification is a safe, chemical-free method of treating bacteria and other microorganisms by exposure to Ultraviolet (UV) light. Even chlorine-resistant microorganisms are made harmless through UV exposure.
Lack of chemicals means no harmful chemical byproducts are going back into the environment, and the taste of your water is not affected in any way.
Learn more about how UV disinfection works
Unlike chemical processes, water is disinfected as it runs through a stainless steel chamber containing a UV lamp. As water is exposed to the UV light from the lamp, illness-causing microorganisms receive a lethal dose of UV light that attacks their DNA and eliminates their ability to reproduce. Harmful bacteria and viruses are deactivated.
UV Water Purification is an extremely quick physical process that renders the water safe to drink immediately. However, different organisms require different levels of UV energy to disrupt their DNA. This energy level is known as a UV Dose.

Typical Application
These UV systems include a
built-in single or
dual particle filter housing upstream from the UV purifier.

Compatibility With Existing Plumbing Equipment
UV Water Purification is compatible with all plumbing, pumping and treatment (filtering, reverse osmosis, conditioning and softening) as
water chemistry remains unchanged.
Cost-To-Operate
Viqua UV Water Purification systems are extremely economical to operate. A typical whole home system uses the same power as a 40-Watt light bulb. Depending on the size of
your home, the current quality of your water, and your water source, we can provide a system to meet your needs. For assistance in choosing the right system
